Want to get involved in the IJAI?

As the IJAI is run on a voluntary basis the editors require lots of assistance. If you would like to help out with this project here are some ideas to consider:

Submit an article?
Articles may be of any length and on any subject related to Irish archaeology, with or without graphics. Papers may be submitted on disks formatted for either IBM PC or Apple Macintosh. For preference, documents should be provided in HTML, RTF or plain text with illustrations already scanned. In exceptional circumstances printed documents and photographs may be accepted.

The Peer Review Board?
To ensure that previously unpublished research papers conform to the highest standards, the IJAI require each to be submitted to the peer review board. At present the IJAI are recruiting new members for the board. If you wish to be considered for such a position, please send a current Curriculum Vitae indicating your experience and areas of interest to the editors.

Submit a Peer Commentary?
In addition to the academic checks of peer review, the editors hope to implement the format of Peer Commentary in future issues. The format consists of a short discussion/rebuttal etc. of a paper published in the journal. Should you wish to take issue with any points made by an author, you are invited to consider submitting such a peer commentary. On the acceptance of a peer commentary the original author will be invited to provide a suitable reply. It is hoped that this feature will provide a forum for structured and reasoned debate which will be of value to the discipline.

Submit a book review?
The editors will welcome all submissions of book reviews. Any topics related to the archaeology of Ireland will be considered.

Submit an internet resource review?
The IJAI welcomes any reviews of internet web-sites which are of relevance to Irish archaeology. You may use the IJAIlinks page as a convenient starting place.

Submit a book for review?
If you are the author/publisher of a book of relevance to Irish archaeology, please consider sending it to the IJAI.
